The next/last ride of the KCC for 2020 is the Redbud Ride in London, KY Saturday 10/10
Thanks for everyone who worked and participated at the Limestone Cycling Tour. It was a wonderful ride with great weather!
But... on to the Redbud Ride. The Redbud Ride offers five route options ranging from an almost flat 23 miles to the challenging 100-mile route. Our 100-mile route was chosen by Active.com as “The Best Century Ride in America.” Register Now HERE
The Kentucky Cycling Challenge 2020 is happening. It started with the Rock the Crater on August 15th, and will followed by the Limestone Cycling Tour on September 12th and closed out on October 10th with the rescheduled Redbud Ride. Although our plans are solidly in place, as we all have discovered in this year of unpredictability, we cannot guarantee the 100% chance of completion of the KCC. However, we believe that holding a three ride KCC in 2020 is going to happen.
We have been working with local health departments and are preparing to make the rides as safe as possible, from Covid-19, by following precautions needed and prescribed by the local health departments in conjunction with each ride's sponsoring organization. There will be guidelines given for your protection by each ride.
If you have pre-existing conditions and are considered in an at-risk category, please contact the KCC (at firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will see if we can arrange for a substitute ride for your safety.
How to Earn a Jersey
You must be a KCC registered rider, registration will be limited to the first 500 people who register. The KCC registration is free. You must also register for and pay for each participating ride and then show up, ride and then you must check-in at the KCC check-in table with proof of mileage upon completion of each ride event. All rides are rain or shine the only exception is for hazardous weather or thunderstorms.
Due to all the changes in the economy and having fewer sponsored rides, our sponsorship funding is down which may limit the KCC awards to just a jersey. If the completion rate and final sponsorship monies allow, we will be giving larger rewards to the CENTURY RIDERS that ride 300 miles and attend all three rides first, then secondly give an extra reward to the METRIC RIDERS that complete all three rides with at least 185 miles. The third category of participants will need to ride all three rides with a minimum of 35 miles per ride and a total of 120 compiled miles to complete and get the KCC jersey. No matter the final outcome of rewards, everyone will be able to purchase the matching bibs at cost (currently under $40).
